Snowdome Stocking Rotation Finished

Snowdome Stocking
Bob and I finished our ten-hour rotation on my snowdome stocking.  I love all the blending filament in this kit.  Sparklies are everywhere.  This is what gives the "snow" effect in the globes.

Back from Houston

After a weekend in Houston, mom and I decided to go to Tuesday night stitching.  We were exhausted, but still got some stitching done.  This weekend, I finished Naomi's birth announcement for Aubrey.  Need to get it framed.  Now I'm working on Smitty's announcement.  Got the star outlined.  Now, I'm working on the filler stitches and personalization.

Tuesday Night

Naomi's Baby Announcement
Mom and I went to Tuesday night stitching.  We decided to take a break from the 12 years of Christmas.  She worked on Dozen Buzzins and I worked on Naomi's Birthday Announcement for Aubrey.  I just need to finish the weight and add "A Star is Born".

Asher's Sweet Moon Completed!

Asher's Sweet Moon
I finally finished Asher's Sweet Moon.  Eli's is pretty far along.  Hopefully I should have his finished soon so that they can go to the framer's.

Coke Santa Rotation

I finished the rotation on momma's Coke Santa.  He's over halfway done.  Then I can cross another project off the list (mom's list, of course, not mine).  I'm such a good daughter.  he he  I'm also posting progress on Asher's sweet moon.

Scissor Exchange

Well the scissor exchange is completely over.  My person confirmed that she received my package.  Who knew it took that long to get stuff to Australia?  Anyway, here's a picture of the completed product I sent her (thanks, mommy.  I couldn't have done it without you.)  and the one my person sent me.  This exchange was fun.  I'll probably join in the next one, too.

Noah's Ark Rotation Finished

Noah's Ark
I finished the rotation on my Noah's Ark.  I've got the back-to-school crud and Bobtail won't let me sleep so I'm switching back and forth between reading and stitching.  I worked some more on the top half of the picture.  I also did some backstitching on the turtles and added lazy daisies to the trees.

Finished Pooh Sampler Rotation

Pooh Sampler

I got this kit in high school and finally started working on it seriously.  I finished my 10-hour rotation on it and got a long way.  I finished the bottom section and began the top half.  The entire Pooh section where he's stuck in Rabbit's hole (above Piglet's head) is all new stitching.  I'm also posting progress on Asher's sweet moon.  I've also started Eli's and have almost the entire bottom half complete.

Sweet Moon update
I finished my rotation on Coke Bears.  This is the last in a series that I've been stitching up for momma.  Yes, she talked me into stitching another project for her.  He he.  I'm also including an update on sweet moon.

Summer Session is Over!

What possessed me to do full time in the summer, I'll never know.  But, I survived (I think).  I turned in my online exam Friday night and I am done.  Woo hoo.  Now back to semi-normal.  I'm never normal so semi is the best I can hope for.

Baby's Garden Quilt Rotation Finished

I finished the 10 hour rotation on Baby's Garden Quilt.  It's a cute little quilt with flower bears.  Mom found the fabric to match for a backing so we can turn it into a cute baby quilt for whoever has a baby girl when it's done.  It'll be a while girls so you'll have plenty of time to work on number two (or in Bethie's case, number three).  he he

Friday Afternoon Stitching

Summer school has been way intense.  I've had so much homework that I haven't been able to go to Tuesday night stitching.  So I decided to go today instead.  I don't have class on Fridays so I procrastinated a little on my classwork and played with Kate and Diane instead.  I got the K finished for my scissor case.  Now I just need mom's help to turn it into a shoe.  I also need some of her quilting supplies.  I also finished my punchneedle piece today, too.  I got a lot done for one afternoon.

Tuesday Afternoon Stitching

Today I went to the cross stitch shop earlier than normal.  Since I don't have to start school until next week, I went to the shop around 11 and stayed until 5.  I was able to get started on my scissors exchange for the cross stitch forum I'm a member of.  I have to make a scissor case and a fob.  I found a cute pattern at the shop to make a scissor shoe.  Diane will help me find a flip flop pattern to make the fob because I want to match the shoe.  The lady I'm making for is named Kirsten so I'm stitching her initial.  She said she liked "winter colors" so Diane and I agreed Weeks color Santorini fit the bill.  Here's a look at the original pattern and the K so far.  I'm also adding my progress on Sweet Moon.  I've finished moon number one and I'm working on Asher's name right now.  I really like the fonts Diane helped me find on yarntree.com.

I finished my rotation on a kit Nanny bought me when I graduated from high school.  It's a beautiful piece called Dolphin's Domain.  Here's what I've done so far.

Sampler Club

Tonight was May's Sampler Club night.  It was nice for three reasons.  1.  Mom and I didn't have to host it, Donna did.  2. We missed last month so it had been two months since I worked on Nora Corbett.  3.  I made Connie cry.  Yup that was great.  I gave her the cat memorial I stitched for Emily.  She was definitely touched.  Donna got hers tonight, too.

A Gift for Donna

I felt really bad for Donna.  It's hard for her to make friends.  She just lost her best friend, her puppy, Jackie.  So I made her a dog memorial.  She wanted to buy the pattern to make it for herself and we kept hinting for her not to.  She just couldn't get the memo.  Finally momma just told her I was making her one.  It was pretty funny.  I'm not framing hers like I am the one for Nikki and Joey so she gets hers as is.  I like Donna, but I love Nikki, Joey, and Makayla.  They're worth the price of framing.  he he

Another Stitching Night

Guess who I saw at the stitch shop tonight--Nikki and Makayla.  Yeah.  I miss them both.  Things have been so crazy we haven't been able to meet up.  But we spent some quality time tonight.  And guess what--Nikki even stitched!  I was so proud of her.  Ha ha. Here's what I got done tonight.

On a Finishing Roll...

I finished another piece.  Since I found the wonderful memorial pattern that I stitched for Nikki and Joey, I decided to do one for Ms. Connie.  She lost her kitty, Emily, who was a dear companion to her.  Since she's elderly and lives alone, this loss hit her hard.  So I stitched her the kitty memorial.

Back to my Routine (I hope)

First of all--Happy Birthday Mary and Cathy!

Now on to cross stitch stuff.  Mom and I are trying to get back into our Tuesday night stitching routine.  So much has gotten in the way.  We were really late tonight, but we made it.  Mom had a quilting class and I had a faculty meeting.  Didn't get home for dinner until 5:30.  We didn't leave for the shop until 6.  But we went anyway and stitched our hearts out.  I worked some more on Sweet Moon for Bethie's angels.

I'm finishing the bottom of the moon's crescent, then I'm done (until it's time to add the date and the name) and on to Sweet Moon's twin.

Another Finish!

Most of you know that Nikki and Joey had to put Saphire to sleep about a month ago.  She was a wonderful dog and I felt she needed to be remembered.  I found a sweet pattern on Hoffman and stitched it for her.  Now I just need to take it to get framed.

Sweet Moon Success

Since someone who will remain nameless (Bethie) decided to get knocked up with twins, I was trying to come up with a cute baby sampler that would be fun to do twice.  That's where Sweet Moon came in the picture.  But I always had my heart set on mirror imaging the moons so that the baby samplers could "talk" to each other like the babies will.  Kinko's made it happen!  They mirror imaged my pattern so I can stitch the 2nd moon facing the 1st moon.  I'm so excited!  I'm almost finished sampler 1 (without baby info of course) and will be ready to mirror image soon!

Here's my progress on Sweet Moon so far...

Finished Stitching

I finished stitching on Bethie's surprise.  Now I just need to "finish" the pieces.  Robin taught me how to finish them the way I want them done.  Now I just need to do it.  One step closer, though.  Yeah me!

Another Project Finished

Tina's Mardi Gras Tree
Wasn't feeling well tonight so Mom and I skipped stitching.  I took a shower early and stitched with Bobtail in bed.  Guess it was worth it cuz I finished another project!  Tina's Mardi Gras tree is done.  Now I just need to get her and Roger's trees framed then they're ready for delivery.  Go me!

Sampler Club Plan B

Mom and I showed up for Sampler Club and found out that no one had gotten my e-mail reminder.  So we moved stitching to my house.  Bobtail was ecstatic!  He stole our thread and markers.  He tore up our papers.  He chased the DVD we were trying to watch.  Then he took a nap.  Here's a picture of him and his Mawmaw.

Here's a tip:  Never let your cat help you sort beads.  Here's what my angel did while I was trying to sort the beads for Nora Corbett's 12 Days of Christmas.

Sweet Moon Rotation Complete

I finished my rotation for Sweet Moon.  I'm going to keep stitching on it though because I have so many to make.  At the rate my friends and family are getting pregnant, this could turn into another Superbowl Tree!  I'm very happy for all of you though.  However, don't be offended if I won't eat or drink after you.  He he.

I've also been working steadily on Tina's Mardi Gras Tree.

Tuesday Night

I went to Tuesday Night Stitching Club.  I did absolutely no stitching!  I visited and shopped instead.  Nikki was there with Makayla.  Kate was "babysitting" when I got there, but had to go home to feed her husband.  So being a good friend, I "babysat" Makayla so Nikki could talk.  Ha ha.  It was such torture.  Eventually I did get the fabric for Bethie's baby announcements and Nikki helped me choose fabric for Makayla's announcement.  They're all going to be pretty.

Sue Birdsong came to stitching tonight.  It's been almost a year since I've seen her.  She's another retired teacher, but she's been busy taking care of her mother and driving to Florida to see grandbabies.  It was great to talk to her again.  We spent a lot of time discussing our favorite children's books.  Even though 10 years separates our teaching careers, we still love the same books.  It's amazing how some classics never change.

I also bought a new pattern.  It's way perfect for gifted.  It's called "What in the World?" by Funk and Weber Designs.  Each hexagon has a close-up view of something from nature.  Wonder when I'll actually get it stitched...

Finished Another Rotation

I finished my 10-hour rotation on Fish City!  I got a lot done.  The end is near!  Woo-hoo!  I've also gotten a lot finished on Tina's Mardi Gras Tree.  I'm finished the bottom half and I'm up working on the top of the tree.

Finished a Rotation

Christmas by the Letter
I finished my rotation for Just Nan's Christmas by the Letter.  I made it all the way through Merry and got the house completed.  Just need to add the snow before I can start Christmas.  I even added buttons to M and E since mom gave me some invisible thread.  It's looking good!

Sampler Club

Last night was sampler club.  I got more done on my 12 Years of Christmas by Nora Corbett.  Momma has changed the name to 12 Centuries of Christmas.  Mom spent most of the night picking out what she stitched so I don't think she feels she got anything accomplished.

Back to Tuesday Nights

As crazy as it's been lately, mom and I haven't made it to Tuesday Night Stitching.  We made it tonight.  I finished the "y" in merry and started the cottage on Just Nan's By the Letter.  Then Thursday is sampler club so hopefully I'll get some more done on my 12 years of Christmas.

My Superbowl Trees are Done!

I have finally finished all of my superbowl trees!  Roger's tree is done.  Now I just need to make a tree for Tina.  That way they can each have a handmade tree of their very own.  I can't believe all my trees are done.  I'll be seeing Saints and Colts for years to come.  I practically have the pattern memorized.  Ha ha
