July Theme

The theme for July's monthly SAL was Patriotic Pride.  I don't have current projects that are patriotic or red, white, and blue.  So I chose a project that is a "traditional" American scene.  My father found this kit, Yesteryear by Janlynn, and asked me to stitch it for him.  I have almost reached the halfway point.

Next month's theme is All Creatures Great and Small.

June/July WIPocalypse Check-In

June Topic: Show us your stitching space! Where do you sit, and what is going on around you while you stitch (TV, audiobooks, etc)? My stitching space is my sofa.  I have a chaise lounge add on to my sofa so I can kick my feet up and stitch.  What actually ends up happening is I curl up into a small ball to stitch while the cat spreads out on the chaise.  As long as he's comfortable, right?  From my stitch spot, I can see the TV.  My TV is connected to the internet so I can watch movies or flosstube, or listen to Pandora or an audiobook on overdrive.  Many options for kitty and me to while away our stitching time.  Next to my sofa is an end table complete with Daylight lamp to help me and my buddy see.

July Topic: What are your oldest and your newest wips?  My oldest wip is Fish City by Stoney Creek.  My newest wip is China Teapot Tray by Maria Diaz.

10 Hour Rotation finished

I finished my 10 hour rotation on Around the World in 80 Stitches by Papillon Creations.  I completed part 13 and have almost completed part 14 (I only have the backstitch left to complete).  Only 10 sections left to go...

May WIPocalypse Check-In

Topic: Which designer’s projects do you absolutely love, but are too intimidated to try? I absolutely love Chatelaines.  Their mandalas are absolutely gorgeous!  I have 3 patterns in my stash, but have yet to try starting any one of them.  I really don't know why they intimidate me so much. I have stitched with silks before.  I have done many specialty stitches already (and have quite a few more left to go in Around the World in 80 Stitches).  And I have beaded a million times.  Why these pieces intimidate me so much, I'll never guess.

This month I am stitching on Around the World in 80 Stitches by Papillon Creations, Madonna and Angels by Kooler Design Studios, Narrowboat, by Carol Thornton, Into the Deep by Passione Ricamo, Athena by Mirabilia, Iris Fairy by Nora Corbett, Dolphin's Domain by Dimensions, and Fabulous Women in History by Cloudsfactory.

10 Hour Rotation Finished

I finished 10 hours of work on my Christmas Tree Sampler by the Victoria Sampler Company.  I'm really proud of the hardanger band I completed.  I did it wrong at first so it didn't look quite right.  After seeing Ingeborg (from A Stitch Too Far) on Youtube show her hardanger sampler, I knew for sure that it was wrong.  So I found a very clear Youtube video showing step by step how to accomplish it.

Happy Birthday, Stash Queen!

For Katy, the Stash Queen's birthday SAL, the theme was something royal.  So I decided to work on Madonna and Angels by Kooler Design Studios.  I think this counts for the Royal family.
